Can a chocolate Great Dane also have a mask?
Yes, a chocolate Great Dane can have a mask. The chocolate base coat, determined by the B-locus (the TYRP1 gene), can interact with and affect all other coat colors and patterns. According to the Great Dane Rescue, if the recessive chocolate gene (b) is present, it could produce a brown mask on Fawn and Brindle dogs.
