In Loving Memory of Wade
January 29, 2022 – June 7, 2025
There are some souls that leave such a mighty imprint, their presence feels eternal – Duty Dane’s Wade’n in theDead Pool was one of them.
Wade wasn’t just a Great Dane. He was a monumental spirit in a towering body, a true gentle giant standing 44inches at the shoulder, but with a heart so soft it could melt even the hardest day. His life was not long, but itwas full – full of love, full of adventure, and full of purpose.
He was a trusted mobility partner, a friend to children, a smiling face at carnivals, parades, and fairs – a dogthat made people stop in their tracks not just because of his size, but because of his energy. He carried himself like a superhero, true to his namesake, and yet every child, every stranger, every other animal was met with a calm kindness that made you believe the world could be softer than it seems.
Wade found joy in the little things – the splash of pond water at his favorite swimming spot, the trail dust at Bundy Hill under his giant paws, the hum of the road as he rode shotgun, and the simple delight of an ice cream cone at Cool Dip. He didn’t just go places – he made memories there. He brought smiles wherever he went, always composed, always loyal, always Wade.
Now laid to rest under the birch trees near the pond he loved, beside his daughter Moon Dancer, Wade has returned to the earth that brought him peace. The breeze that rustles through those leaves will forever carry echoes of his gentle breath, the ripples in the pond his playful splashes. He’s not gone – he’s just walking the trails we cannot see.
Wade lives on not only in the love he gave, but in his legacy – his son, D.D. Drogon Dark Rebel of Destiny, & his daughter D.D. Diamond’s Hurricane Blues N’ Hoodoo Voodoo Sass, and the generations that will come after. In them, his courage, grace, and noble spirit will continue to walk this
world. He was one of a kind. He was our Wade.
And he will be missed, fiercely, forever.
“May you forever live on through your gene pool, Waders.
