If you could be a character from a book or film, who would you be?
If I could step into the shoes of any character, I would choose the Phoenix from the Marvel Universe. I have always been fascinated by her, especially the complex dynamics between her and Wolverine, but my connection to her goes much deeper than just being a fan of the films.
The Phoenix represents the ultimate cycle of resilience. Throughout my life, I have been at the bottom and shut down more times than I can count. I’ve faced years of hardship that could have easily broken me, but like the Phoenix, I find a way to rise out of the ashes every single time. She has been a symbol of strength for me during those dark moments, reminding me that no matter how many times life tries to burn things down, I have the power to come back stronger, wiser, and more determined.
That same spirit is what drives me at Duty Danes. This journey hasn’t always been easy, but the ability to rise, rebuild, and keep moving forward is what allows me to pour so much heart into my dogs and my studies in Animal Health and Behavior. It’s about more than just surviving; it’s about soaring.
I’d love to know—is there a fictional character that you’ve always felt a deep connection to? Who is the “Phoenix” in your life that gives you strength when things get tough?
