We’re so happy you’re interested in one of our precious pups! We take great care in placing our puppies in the best homes possible, and our waiting list is the first step in that journey. It’s how we ensure that our puppies are matched with families who will love and cherish them for their entire lives.
How Our Waiting List Works
To secure a spot on our waiting list, a non-refundable retainer of $300.00 is required. This retainer fee is applied to the total purchase price of your puppy.
*Please note: This retainer fee does not guarantee a puppy but does secure a spot on our list. We, along with the stud owner, reserve the right to first pick of all litters. Payment of the retainer allows you to be notified of upcoming litters and gives you the opportunity to choose your puppy.
Once your retainer is received, we will send you a confirmation email and add you to our priority waiting list. When a new litter is on the way, we will contact you in the order your retainer was received to discuss your preferences and the puppy selection process.
Deciding to add one of our gentle giants—one of our fur babies—to your family is a beautiful, serious, and exciting choice. Bringing a Duty Dane into your life requires real commitment. It is truly taking the more challenging, longer road, but the reward is a loyal, loving, and supportive partner.
We are a small, dedicated kennel focused entirely on temperament and health. We don’t rush our breeding program, which means our waiting list moves slowly, but we promise this dedication ensures you get a truly healthy and well-socialized pup ready for a fantastic life.Our Matching Philosophy
We understand that families often have a particular look in mind, whether it’s a specific color or a certain pattern. While we respect your preferences, our primary goal is to ensure each puppy finds a family that is the perfect fit for their individual temperament and needs.
For this reason, we prefer to match puppies with their new families. We spend countless hours with each puppy and get to know their unique personalities. This allows us to make a thoughtful recommendation for the best possible lifelong companion, based on what we’ve learned about both the puppy and your family. Your input and preferences are incredibly important to us, and we will always take them into consideration during this process.
How to Join Our Waiting List
1. Application: Please fill out our detailed application. This helps us get to know you, your home environment, and your specific goals (whether you’re seeking a family companion, a Therapy Dog, or a specialized Service Dog).
2. Approval & Non-Refundable Fee: Once your application is reviewed and approved, a non-refundable reservation list fee secures your place on the list.
3. Your Reservation Agreement: By submitting the fee, you understand and agree to the following essential terms:
• The fee is non-refundable.
• Litter timing is never guaranteed. We cannot control heat cycles or successful pregnancy.
• Health and Responsibility: You are aware that we routinely deworm and monitor for potential UTIs and ear infections. However, sometimes the stress of leaving the breeder can trigger flare-ups (such as UTIs, illnesses, and allergies). You agree that it is your responsibility to care for your new puppy once they leave the kennel, ensuring they receive proper care and medication, if needed.
• Kennel Rights: We reserve the right to cancel a reservation if it is in the best interest of the parents involved. The health of our parents is paramount. If a breeding pair is canceled, we will provide you with other up-and-coming options. You understand and agree to Duty Danes’ right to use any puppy selections in any form or fashion they choose without restrictions.
• Placement and Selection: You are not guaranteed your puppy of choice, color, or gender. We follow a strict “puppy-to-home fit” philosophy, and I place puppies to fit the home. Clients choose in the order of the reservation list and can select any available puppy at their selection time.
• Selection Day Process: Clients are given a 30-minute selection time frame. If a client is not in attendance nor reachable by phone during this time, they will forfeit their placement.
• List Rules: Your deposit places you on two current reservation lists concurrently (unless both lists have puppies in the nursery), but is for only one puppy. Once you choose your puppy, your name will be removed from the other list and the spot cannot be transferred to someone else. If you want two puppies, you will need to make two deposits.
• Deferral: You can defer your place in line and add yourself to future lists until you get the puppy you want/need.
• Pick-Up Policy: Due to safety concerns, we no longer ship puppies. You must pick up your puppy or pay for a nanny to transport it. You are responsible for all associated costs on Selection Day.
• Agreement: By signing your name below, you agree to Duty Danes’ terms and conditions regarding the non-refundable reservation fee.
4. Updates: We’ll keep you updated on planned breeding and confirmed pregnancies. You’ll hear from us as soon as we have news!

Thank you for taking the first step to welcome a Duty Danes puppy into your life! We appreciate your patience as we work through a careful, ethical matching process.
• Review and Approval: Once you submit your completed application and agreement form, please allow 5-7 business days for our team to review everything. We will contact you directly via email regarding the approval of your application.
• Deposit Instructions: If approved, your email will contain the specific link and instructions for submitting your non-refundable reservation deposit. This payment is what officially secures your spot on our list.
• Communication: We will provide regular updates on breeding plans, confirmed pregnancies, and litter arrivals. These updates are shared via email and often on our private social media channel for approved families. We aim to keep you connected every step of the way!
